I’m Sr Aline Gomes do Nascimento CFMSS, born in Salvador in the state of Bahia. I’ve been living in the Amazon region for 10 years, in the state of Pará (2 years in Belém and 8 years in Redenção). I’ve been working with the Kayapó indigenous people for the eight years I’ve lived in Redenção.  Initially I worked in the Indigenous Pastoral and since 2nd June 2020 I have been working as a nurse in the Gorotire village, in the municipality of Cumaru do Norte, 160 km from Redenção.

Ever since I was an aspirant when I heard Sr Rogéria talking about the indigenous mission with such love and enthusiasm, I fell in love. And as I always wanted to be part of the mission, I vowed that when possible I would apply to serve the Kayapó indigenous people. And that’s what happened when Sr Rogéria was elected provincial in 2012. I made myself ready to be part of this mission, where I found Jesus in the face of the indigenous people whom I chose to love and serve. I feel honoured to represent each CFMSS in this mission, which is not easy. But God is giving me the grace to be a sign of His presence
